Italian Recipes is kindle friendlyAlbany 14 October 2009 . To stay closer to my wife's family we moved to the Albany area. Albany 25 June 2012 I am sorry that i had not much time for the website but i was working full time and graduated in Italian French and Education at Suny Albany Rochester 24 February 2009 Alas, I find myself living in a small town of Rochester, NY after leaving my native country of Italy after 45 years. Why, you may ask? Of course, it was a beautiful American woman who pulled me away from Rome to live in the US. Our marriage took place on February 20th. While living in America for almost one year, I have been introduced to the Italian-American cuisine. It's very interesting to see the differences between the States and Italy regarding cuisine. Italian-American cuisine went in its own direction, either creating new dishes or modifying existing ones. An example? Fried calamari. In Italy they are served by themselves with a wedge of lemon. You can imagine my surprise when my order was served smothered in tomato sauce. (Don't get me wrong, it was good, but surprising.) One more example? Chicken carbonara. I laughed out loud when I first read this on a menu. You see, for Italians, carbonara is a pasta. Just pasta. No chicken. And what exactly is a rollatini. So, while waiting for American bureaucracy to send me my resident papers, I have decided to create a website that shares my passion for authentic Italian cooking. My goal is to help my American friends rediscover the seemingly lost art of true Italian cooking here in the States. I will write about my cooking, the wines to pair with the meals, restaurants, and places I love, both in Italy and New York. Since the new wife (for now) is the money-maker, I am in charge of the cooking. So, every day you will find a new recipe on my blog. I will also re-group the Italian recipes in one easy location so you can pick and choose what it is you would like to experiment with. I would love to read your comments about your cooking adventures! Thank you for the visit, and buon appetito! By the way, It is not only about cooking, Here is a link if you want to know more about me and what I can do for you. Privacy PolicyITALIAN LESSONS Albany NY area |
