Bread Stuffing




Bread Stuffing

2 cups stale bread broken in pieces

1/4 teaspoon sage
1 teaspoon onion juice (if desired)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup stock
a tablespoons chopped or crisp bacon

1/4 cup broken nuts or 1/2 cup chopped oysters or a cup chopped celery
1 tablespoon shortening (melted)






Mix all the ingredients together in the order given.
More or less stock will be required according to the dryness of the bread. The stuffing should be quite dry.
