Brunswick Stew




Brunswick Stew

4 cups chicken stock

2 cups fresh green lima beans
1 tablespoon gelatine
1/4 cup cold water      

4 tablespoons shortening  (chicken fat is good)
2 cups chicken
2 cups solid chopped tomatoes

1/4 cup fine bread crumbs
1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups corn, cut from cob

2 tablespoons chopped onion (if desired)

Soak gelatine in cold water five minutes and add to hot stock. Add other ingredients in order given and cook over a slow fire until vegetables are tender. Add boiling water or stock if too. thick.
