2 tablespoons shortening   1 tablespoon sugar
2 cups diced fresh pork or veal  

1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup celery, shredded     1/4 cup cold water
i cup onions, sliced thin 

3 tablespoons Oriental sauce
1 tablespoon gelatine
1 cup boiling water        2 cups of bean sprouts





Put shortening in frying pan and when hot add meat and cook until nearly done; add celery, onions, boiling water, gelatine soaked in a little cold water, salt, sugar and Oriental sauce. Cook all together until vegetables are half done. Add flour mixed with cold water, cook until thickened, add bean sprouts and cook two minutes. Serve with hot rice.
NOTE: Bean sprouts, water chestnuts and Chinese sauce may be secured at any grocery store handling fancy canned goods.
