This is a very easy recipe that you will find in Italy almost at every pizzeria. Although popular it is often prepared in a way that ruins the taste of the ham.
The secret is simple and it consists by adding the ham when you take the crostini out of the oven. This way you maintain the unique characteristics of Italian raw ham also known as prosciutto.
Ingredients for two
Two big slices of bread, 4 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, a quarter pound Italian prosciutto, olive oil.
Preheat the oven at 400 degrees. Slice the mozzarella and layer it over the bread, and cook the crostini until the mozzarella is melted, which is about 5-10 minutes.
Take the crostini out of the oven add the ham in slices, and sprinkle with olive oil.
